Andrew McIntosh

Maths Teacher

I graduated from the University of KwaZulu Natal, Durban, South Africa where I earned an Honours degree in Business Entrepreneurship.  Following that, I then gained my PGCE with my specialist subjects being Maths, Business and Economics.

After graduating, I spent 2 1/2 years teaching High School Mathematics in Durban, South Africa. Then in 2013 I moved and taught in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to continue my development as a Maths teacher.  I began my role in secondary Maths at Compass International in 2014 and continue to look forward to the challenges ahead.

The outdoors and being active is  a big part of my life and enjoy all sport and staying active.  I have a passion for field hockey which I played back at home as well as coached it at school level.  Other activities I actively take part in are golf, scuba diving and wakeboarding.  I firmly believe that an active lifestyle is healthy for both the body and mind.  It is for this reason that my philosophy is to promote a holistic education where the student has a balanced lifestyle inside and outside the classroom.

To me being ambitious is challenging yourself to achieve realistic but challenging goals in your life without the fear of failure.
