I came to Doha last August, due to my husband relocating with his job. I have a BA Hons degree in French and German from Leeds University and PGCE from Manchester University. I have been teaching for 20 years, 19 years in England teaching French, German, Latin and Spanish, in both state and private schools, and one year teaching French in Doha in an International School in the city centre.
I come from Durham in the north east of England.
Before becoming a teacher I was a WRNS officer in the Royal Navy, after which I trained as a chartered accountant. I then worked in exports for Coats Viyella, as an account manager with responsibility for Europe and West Africa.
I enjoy foreign travel, fine dining, dressmaking and SCUBA diving.
I am looking forward to the challenge of teaching the IB Diploma and gaining further knowledge and new skills to enable me to do so.
My favourite quote: “If it is to be, then it’s up to me.”
