My country of origin is South Africa. I am married, my husband also being a teacher, and have two daughters, aged 25 and 21. We arrived in Doha in 2005, and have been living here for the past 11 years, after spending some time in the USA and UAE. In 2005, Qatar was in the process of rapid development as it attempted to popularize its global position. This exciting period in its history is what drew us to the country.

This is my third year teaching at Compass International School. I completed a BA degree through the University of South Africa, as well as a certification in Teaching for a Multicultural Education. Currently, I am enrolled in a Master’s Degree program in Special Education Needs, through the University of Southern Queensland, Australia.

I am from the West of Scotland where I studied for four years at Glasgow university graduating with a Bachelor (Honors) Degree in Education in 2004. Since then I have worked in the UK and in Spain where I have developed as a committed practitioner  and gained many ideas on teaching approaches and learning styles. I very much enjoyed working along side different cultures and nationalities and I am excited to becoming part of the Rayyan Team.

Never can I forget the fact that I was born and raised in France. I made a choice to leave France to study education in Belgium. Regardless of whether I discovered a new country and learnt a lot, I for sure met a Magic Weaver that year. Definitely he is a teacher that transmitted me the passion for teaching and helped me obtain my higher education of pedagogy: primary general teacher in 2002.

I am qualified school teacher, specializing in Primary/Junior years. I obtained my teaching qualification in Canada, but have since taught overseas in South Korea and South America. At home, I had wonderful experiences teaching students, generally in key stage two. I also thoroughly enjoyed my time overseas, teaching students in various year groups.

I love travelling, sports and cooking and aim to explore these hobbies further in the Middle East.
