The Gulf region has always been my home. Born to British parents in Dubai, I moved to Qatar in 1984 where I was raised before returning to the UK to complete my higher education. I attended the University of Northampton, gaining my BA honours, and then went on to complete my Post Graduate Certificate in Education with the University of Sunderland. From University I moved directly into the teaching profession, a job I consider as one of the most rewarding in the world. With a preference to work in International Schools, I have focused my professional development on strategies to assist second language learners. I became qualified through the Education Department of the Australian Government to teach second language learners in mainstream schools. This is my first year at Compass International School, and I am so pleased to be immersed in such a positive learning environment. Most of my time outside of school is spent either Kite surfing, or volunteering for the animal shelters.
