Each of our campuses have a team of Student Councillors. The Primary Student Council is nominated in by their classmates after they have presented their manifestos. Once chosen, the Student Councillors meet together once a month to plan any upcoming events and discuss any suggestions brought up by their classmates.
On a day-to-day basis the Student Councillors’ jobs include monitoring the playground and helping to tidy equipment. They also help to welcome new pupils and are the voice of the students in their classes.
Our Council members greatly benefit the school and we hope to keep developing this important role next year.
In Secondary at Madinat Khalifa, students are asked to elect two members from each form, every organisation needs a strong leader, so the next step are the elections for the Chairperson and committee of the Student Council.
Applications for Chairperson are invited and students then prepare their election campaigns and speeches. Each candidate then makes an election speech based on what they would do for the students at our school. Forms then vote and an overall winner is selected.
The members of the Student Council attend meetings, put forward opinions of those in their classes, organise and assist at events and work together as a team throughout the year.
