I would like to thank the whole NAS Dubai community for making our first few days so outstanding.
The students and the teachers have been wonderful. Engaged, working hard and enjoying their time at school.
We have a number of events coming up and details are contained in this newsletter.
This includes dates for the start of Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs) after school and the information about how the sign up process will take place when the club lists are released next week.
We are not perfect of course and, as I have pointed out, there are a few delayed items that we are working on;
Chief amongst these is our iSAMS parent portal and communication system and our security cards for parents/drivers/nannies. Both are not yet fully operational and this will take us two to three more weeks.
We will always be transparent with our aims and our communications, as to be otherwise, is to be dishonest.
Finally I would like to offer my genuine thanks, both personally and on behalf of all of us, for the many words of thanks we have received from parents. It does mean a great deal to us.
I would like to wish you all a very happy weekend.
Back to School Picnic
Our ‘Back to School’ picnic will take place in our internal atrium from 12pm – 2pm. This event is a bring your own hamper / lunch and blanket. It is a great opportunity to gather as a community to meet fellow parents and children.
There will be no refreshments offered by the school so please make sure you bring food and drink for all!
Drop off, Pick-Up & Parking
Thank you to everyone who has made a great effort to follow our security guards directions with regard to drop off, pick up and parking. There will be signs indicating directions, parking areas and no entry areas as of Sunday.
A few reminders;
If you are parking please use the gravel car park to the right of the school. Be mindful of pedestrians and cars leaving the area.
The road system is one way therefore if you have missed the parking you do need to follow the one way system to return to the school.
Please follow the instructions of the parking security guards; they are there for your child’s safety.
Use the designated roped off foot paths.
Drop offs and pick-ups can be made in the layby past the main entrance to the school. However this area is not to be used for parking.
Please utilise the staff car park car park entrance to the school as a walkway also; it is a pedestrian only area from 7:10am – 8:30am.
EYFS, primary and secondary classrooms do not open until 7:30am. If you arrive early please wait in the main atrium, at our Chatter Box Café or in the EYFS reception. A member of staff will inform you when you are able to head to your respective classrooms or form rooms.
The outdoor play areas are not to be used outside of school hours and only under supervision of NAS Dubai staff.
CCA Sign Up
School-led CCA (after school activities such as sports, clubs, music, drama) sign up will take place during next week. You will receive a list of activities and information on how to sign up.
All our external partners will be hosting a sign up afternoon on Monday 8th and Wednesday 10th September in the main atrium from 2pm – 4pm.

Thank you for such a fantastic response to sending in your passport photos for your ID cards. In the last 2 days we have printed and distributed ID cards for 24% of our NAS families! We appreciate you may have sent in photographs at the time of applying to Admissions however by re-sending them we will have a far more efficient and speedy process and then can also include additional people responsible for your child.
If you haven’t sent your photographs in already then please provide a passport sized photo for each person that requires an ID card with their name written clearly on the back.
Put all the photographs in an envelope with the name of your child (and siblings) and their class on the front.
Please hand in the envelope to either the main reception or to EYFS reception.
