Key Stage 4

Key Stage 4 prepares our pupils for external examinations.

They study both core and optional subjects over a two year period. Students are encouraged to enter for examinations early to allow a greater range, and total number of, subjects to be examined.

Our students are expected to achieve far above national and international averages.

Students are then guided in their options for IB examinations and university entry.

During Key Stage Four pupils work toward external examinations in a range of subjects. Some of these, notably English, Mathematics, Science are considered "core" and are taken by all students. Others are chosen from option blocks. Students have a wide range of choices so that they are able, within boundaries, to tailor their learning to their interests while maintaining a core group of subjects that will allow them academic options later in their studies.

The examinations are iGCSE examinations administered and marked in the UK. These examinations are recognized globally and prepare students for University entry qualifications.

Nord Anglia International School Dubai is a selective, academically focused school. As such our students are expected to achieve at a very high level and the pace of our teaching reflects this.

Students are able to enter Mathematics and English iGCSE at year 10 to allow scope for further study.

Students are expected to complete homework to a good standard and to make use of the "prep" system to support their learning with additional input from teachers.

A guide book for options is available from the school.
