In 2007, I graduated from the University of Debrecen in Hungary with a Master’s Degree in German Studies and Education. Since then I have had the privilege to teach at all academic levels, starting with a researcher post at the same university, where I led various seminars focusing on developing students’ proficiency in written and spoken German.
Seeking challenges in international education, I started my Dubai teaching career at Raffles World Academy in 2009. During my four years there, I taught German as a mother tongue and second language through the IB Primary Years and Diploma Programme. I also had the chance to work at the Goethe Institute-German Language Centre, leading beginner and advanced courses for adults, teenagers and children. In September 2014, I was fortunate to be given a chance to join NAS Dubai to teach German to both primary and secondary school students.
“Treat people as if they were what they ought to be and you help them to become what they are capable of being.” This quotation from Goethe reflects in my teaching philosophy, which is to develop a personal understanding of each child and meet their different learning styles. I believe that by offering an engaging learning environment, integrating a variety of teaching methods and providing individual and group support, students will be greatly motivated to learn and naturally love the language.
I am delighted to be a member of the Nord Anglia Family. It has been wonderful to be able to provide a rewarding education to both Advanced and Second Language Learners and long may it continue.
Outside of teaching, I love to relax by attending my Pilates classes. I am fortunate to be living on this side of the world, as I also enjoy travelling. My most recent destinations were South Africa, Sri Lanka and The Seychelles and my next journey will hopefully take me to Australia.
