Chinese/Mandarin

I was born in a city called Wuhan on the Yangtze River of China. I obtained my Master’s degree from the East China Normal University with a major in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language after four years of study in Chinese Language and Literature.

I worked in an education coop as a Mandarin Instructor for over 8 public high schools in Fayetteville, Arkansas, US. for 2 years. During the period I also accomplished the NTLP (Non-Traditional License Program) which was provided by the Arkansas Education Department and certified as a Mandarin teacher for public schools. Through my guidance most of my high school students gained good results in their HSK/YCT tests as well as the Chinese Bridge Competition – Huston branch.

Before joining NAS Dubai, I was the Mandarin Curriculum Leader at the British International School Shanghai Puxi. I have been teaching IB, IGCSE, GCSE and different Key Stage level Mandarin to both Native, Non-Native and Near Native students for 4 years. I was always proud of the achievements our team made through each exam season, culture events and lesson renovations.

I always enjoy myself when I'm in a theatre, a cinema, a gallery, an exhibition and most of all, during a trip to somewhere new. I have a good range of interests including reading, writing and practising yoga which are all quiet and relaxing. Having a father who used to be a soldier for over 7 years has made me a strong person and be grateful for the good things in life.
