I was born and raised in St. Helens, a town in the north west of England located between Liverpool and Manchester. I chose the University of Liverpool to gain my first class degree in Computer Information Systems and went on to attain my Post Graduate Certificate in Education at Edge Hill University.
This academic year will be my eighth consecutive year as a teacher and during that time I have taught Key Stage 3, GCSE and A-Level Computer Science along with a wide range of ICT qualifications. I have also enjoyed several positions of responsibility throughout my career thus far including Key Stage 4 Co-Ordinator, Head of Department and most recently Assistant Director of Sixth Form. Each of these roles have proven to be extremely rewarding and have reinforced my philosophy of always putting my students first through outstanding teaching and consistently high expectations.
During my spare time I enjoy eating out, travel, live music and keeping fit through activities such as running and yoga.
There is no escaping that we live in an increasingly dynamic technological world and I believe that Computer Science is a subject that represents the future whilst providing near limitless scope for discovery, experimentation and creativity. I adopt this approach within my teaching to ensure that my students develop into enquiring, resourceful and independent learners that thrive on challenge and discovery both within and outside the classroom.
I really enjoy contributing to upholding the excellent reputation that NAS Dubai already has across Dubai.
