After school, I spent just under six months as a volunteer teacher for Educaid in Sierra Leone. It was this experience that sparked my desire to be a teacher. In fact, I returned to the Educaid system on two other occasions during university holidays because I had enjoyed it so much.
I studied English Literature at Exeter University, achieving a 2:1 BA degree, before staying on at Exeter for a further year to complete a PGCE in English and Media.
Following the completion of my PGCE in 2013, I taught at a school in Bath for three years, holding various responsibilities such as Head of House and KS3 English Co-ordinator. These last three years have confirmed my love of teaching and made me feel privileged to be part of such a challenging, dynamic and fulfilling profession.
I am a keen sportsman, having played it in various forms (including rugby, football, boxing and athletics) throughout school, university and my early professional years. As a firm believer in holistic education it will be a pleasure to help out in some way with the school’s extra-curricular or sporting activities so I hope to see some of you on the field!
I’m extremely excited to be joining the NAS Dubai team and to have the opportunity to meet all of you in late August. Until that time, kind regards and enjoy the rest of your summer.
