I have been teaching English in London for nine years. This academic year will be ten years in the profession. During these years, I have been Head of Key Stage 3, Head of English Language A level, Deputy SENCo and then SENCo. I find the psychology of learning fascinating and I've always striven to find ways to improve how we use our brain power more productively and for the greater good (self and society). I have a BA (hons) English, a Postgraduate degree in English, Media and Drama and a MA in Education- so you are in safe hands!
I love to travel and originating from the Seychelles and Goa has ensured that I have explored Asia quite extensively. Additionally, I have explored Europe, the Americas and a little bit of Africa, so I have been fortunate to have amazing cultural experiences abroad as well as living in the diverse city of London!
Reading non-fiction as well as literature is amidst one of my past times. I love going to the theatre too. I enjoy learning new ways to de-stress as well as build up my health - at the moment I am practising qigong. I enjoy yoga and meditation too. Plus I am looking forward to swimming as much as I can; London’s rainy weather makes this hobby less appealing...
Creativity, motivation, reflective thinking and a positive classroom climate is extremely important to me and in order to achieve this, routine and excellent manners are imperative. I believe that in order to achieve high standards, we must give every lesson a hundred percent of our effort; only then can we exceed our targets.
I look forward to meeting you soon.
