Lara Farthing

Secondary Humanities - Geography, Head of Year 7

I've always had a passion for teaching and believe in quality education for all children. I believe that students should be stretched and challenged to reach their full potential, and I am thrilled to be able to teach with Nord Anglia Education.

I like to think that I am a charismatic and enthusiastic teacher, and I like to make my lessons as engaging and interactive as possible. Geography is such an important and topical subject internationally, and I am passionate about engaging students in current geographical thinking.

Having lived in different countries and growing up in international schools, it has allowed me to have a wider understanding of international school children's needs, and the flow of learning in the international sector. I feel particularly honoured to teach students who are living a childhood that I know so well.

Aside from teaching, I am a keen swimmer and enjoy spending days at the beach. I am musical and play a variety of different instruments while also being part of a choir. I’m always keen to participate in musical events at Nord Anglia International School Dubai. I enjoy travelling and experiencing different places and cultures and I believe that this comes across in my teaching, bringing vibrancy to the study of Geography.
