This is, after starting my profession in the UK state system. Although I have always been teaching Mathematics, in the earlier stages of my career, ICT was also on my resume. Prior to joining NAS Dubai, I have been working for six years at The British International School, Budapest as the Head of Mathematics and this school is also part of the Nord Anglia Education group. Amongst the many initiatives that I implemented into the department, I succeeded in taking it into a new phase of technology transition - through the use of iPads and smart TVs. These were implemented alongside the traditional methods of good teaching practice to all year groups in KS3, 4 and 5.
Before I came into the profession of teaching, I was an electrical engineer for a number of years in the UK. I have never looked back and really enjoy making a difference ‘to students’ learning in a friendly and productive classroom. The GCSE, IGCSE, IB Diploma and A Level are all areas that I have expertise in and hope to continue developing some of these here at NAS Dubai as it grows into a full International School.
My overarching philosophy of education is that I am not solely a teacher of Maths, rather a teacher of children. For students to achieve academically they need to be happy, socially responsible and self-reliant. We have moved into the 21st century with many challenges within education and it is essential that Mathematics is an area that is enjoyed, applied and shared effectively.
Outside of school life, my passion is sport and although age is my handicap, I really enjoy playing golf and football when I can.
