That was until 2007, when my travelling bug kicked in and I embarked on a gap year exploring magnificent countries around the world, making some incredible memories and lifelong friends. When I returned to Scotland I studied at Strathclyde University and qualified as a Primary Teacher in 2011.
After teaching for three years in Glasgow, I was keen to progress my career overseas and give myself a new challenge. I have enjoyed many holidays in Dubai from childhood onwards and I have watched it develop into an amazing city full of opportunity with values that are admired and respected. I knew this was the place for me and I have not been disappointed! I fully enjoy everything this country has to offer and have embraced many new experiences; from paddle boarding, to Iftars, to desert biking and copious trips to the waterparks and malls!
I have now completed my second year here at NAS Dubai and I have loved every minute. My key focus is to build excellent relationships with all pupils. I pride myself on developing a positive, safe and nurturing classroom ethos where pupils are growing as confident individuals, responsible citizens, effective contributors and successful learners. Putting the child at the centre of everything I do is a high priority.
I am very much looking forward to another successful year ahead and creating many more amazing memories!
