It was a big decision for me to move south from Ras al Khaimah to live and work in Dubai, but so far the move has definitely proved worth it. I joined NAS Dubai in 2015 and cannot believe that the first year is over already. What a whirlwind of fun, new friends, trips and adventures it’s been and I am looking forward to see what the second year holds for me and my family.
I am currently working in Year 6 with a great team of experienced and caring colleagues who have inspired, challenged and supported me during this initial year at NAS Dubai.
Born and raised in Camden North London, I come from a very diverse multi-cultural background and therefore the demographics of Dubai suit me and my family down to a tee. I love teaching in a multicultural and international environment where there is so much to learn from the different people and cultures that live and work around you.
Teaching and learning at NAS Dubai allows students to learn about the world around them from the different students and teachers that they come into contact with, both inside and outside the classroom. Promoting internationalism, international-mindedness, global perspectives and diversity are key aspects of my teaching philosophy and I love the fact that NAS Dubai celebrates so many different holidays such as; Christmas, Chinese New Year, Ramadan and every other country’s national holidays in the main atrium.
I have a wealth of teaching and management experience in Key Stage Two and I have also spent several years teaching E.F.L. in Malaysia. Since graduating from Roehampton Institute I have lived in and travelled throughout many different countries and cities including London, Malta, New York, Kuala Lumpur, Mexico, Brunei, Ras Al Khaimah and Oman.
I am a keen footballer and regularly score wonder goals at NAS Fat Dads Football on Tuesday nights. I am also a passionate Arsenal FC supporter.
I look forward to meeting my new Year 6 class in August and welcoming you all to 6F.
