We are a community of learners and innovators. Our Fab Lab is the centerpiece of our STEAM program (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) where our students can create prototypes using 3D printing, laser cutters, foam cutters, vinyl cutters and other amazing tools.
Our STEAM program allows our students to become steeped in integrated courses in programming, engineering, robotics, and design. Programming and Robotics begins in the Lower School with Scratch (built by MIT) and Lego Robotics.
Our students take on more advanced programming classes in Middle School including Alice (programming in 3D environment), App Development, Minecraft and Greenfoot (Java). Once at the High School level, our students can advance their learning in higher level programming classes including AP Computer Science, Computer Science I (Ruby/Python) and Robotics Engineering.
Students may explore maker environments, engineering and design beginning with Little Bits, Makey, Makey and other like elements in Lower School. Students may advance to Design Thinking I and II in Middle School where they will enjoy delving deeping into STEAM problem solving using Arduino boards, 3D printers and other Fab Lab equipment. At the High School level, students may take a more rigorous program of Design Thinking using a wider array of Fab Lab equipment and then may choose to advance to IB Design Technology.
