Early Years Foundation Stage (Toddler to Reception)
In Early Years, we communicate through a two-way 'Communication Book’ that your child keeps in his or her school bag each day. If a teacher has a message about your child or the class, they will write you a personal note. If you would like to ask the teacher a question or pass us information, you simply write to us in the ‘Communication Book’. Simple and effective!
Primary School (Years 1 to 6)
In Primary, we communicate regularly each week through a PATHS (Parent And Teacher Home Support) document, which is emailed to all parents.

Secondary School (Year 7+)
In line with our Core Values, most communication in our Secondary School goes directly to your child, allowing them to take greater responsibility for their own learning.
A 'Homework Diary' is used to help with communication between the student, their teacher and home. Students write their homework in the diary, which is then checked weekly by your child's tutor and should also be checked you. Staff and parents are invited to can add short comments as a simple and useful method of communication between home and schol..
Students also have access to a ‘Virtual Learning Environment’ (VLE) through a unique login in name and password. The VLE works from home through the internet and has resources and forums to aid your child as their learning progresses. Our VLE is called ‘Moodle’ and your child will be taught how to get the most from this important resource in their first few days with us at school.

If you wish to contact us privately, we would encourage you to email or speak with your child's Form Tutor. They have responsibility for your child's learning and are best placed to help you with most enquiries.
In addition to daily class or year specific communication, the Head of Phase (Early Years, Primary or Secondary) will send an 'Update' or 'Bulletin' email to you every few weeks that gives you a round up of important information relevant to your child. This is in addition to a monthly newsletter and it is also useful to know we may also send letters home with your child or contact you directly by phone or email if a more personal approach is appropriate.
If we have whole school announcements or general information that will help you get the most from your school, we will email you directly. If you have a general enquiry for us, we invite you to contact us through email@example.com. We will then redirect your query to the person able to best help you and reply accordingly.
What other types of communication should I expect?
We will invite you to attend a more formal meeting with your child's teachers at least three times each year. These meetings are driven by an academic report from teachers that you will receive towards the end of each term.
We also use Facebook and WeChat to pass on photos of events and activities and to let you know about useful but not essential community news.

We also welcome ad hoc talks with staff if this is appropriate and, when needed a more formal meeting can be arranged through your child's teachers at anytime.
