Jamie Gilchrist

EAL Teacher

After finishing a degree in Philosophy at the University Edinburgh, I took my first teaching job teaching English to children and teenagers from all over the world. I was impressed by the way students from different cultures approached learning.

I completed my CELTA qualification and was encouraged to take a teaching post as soon as I qualified. I had a great time teaching at acadamies in my home city of Edinburgh and providing private tuition, before my desire to travel became too strong.

I started working at BSG in the summer of 2015 and loved my first year in China. I’m delighted to be a part of the EAL team in what is sure to be an exciting year, and am looking forward to helping the students reach their full potential.
