After completing my degree in English and Psychology, I volunteered at a primary school which ignited my passion for working with children. I completed the Graduate Teacher Programme through the University of Wolverhampton and began my first teaching post as a Year 1/2 teacher in 2008.
In 2009 I took up my second post at Tillington Manor Primary School in Stafford as a Year 6 teacher. I enjoyed 8 years teaching across Key Stage 1 and Lower Key Stage 2. I also took on the role of ICT Lead, Educational Visits Lead, Online Safety Lead and was also a member of the Safeguarding team. Within my ICT role I evolved the use of technology by introducing tablets across the school and IPads for SEND use. I also introduced parent online safety workshops to inform parents about keeping their child safe online which were highly successful.
This will be my first international post and I am looking forward to the many opportunities working at BSG presents. I firmly believe that all children should be encouraged to be ambitious and aim high in all areas of school life.
Outside of school I am a keen swimmer and also love to travel. I am looking forward to exploring China and other nearby countries.
