I am from the North-East of England from a town called Bishop Auckland. After gaining an MA in Psychology and Sociology from Glasgow University I then studied at Liverpool Hope University where I graduated with a PGCE in primary education. From the age of 18 I have always wanted to work with children and over the years have volunteered in numerous educational sectors.
My first two years of teaching were spent in a wonderful school in the North East of England where I learnt a lot about myself as teacher and gained valuable knowledge from my colleugues. I then spent four years working in a developing British international school in Panama as the head of Key Stage 2. Making the decision to move to the British School of Guangzhou was easy as I wanted to work in a well established international school and coupled with strong core values this school seems the perfect fit.
I love to travel with my husband and experience new cultures. As this is my first time in Aisa I am incredibibly excited to explore. I also enjoy; reading, scuba diving, watching movies and spending time with friends and family. Whilst living in China, I hope to pick up some of the language and also learn Tai-Chi.
