This is my second year at the British School of Guangzhou and my fourth year in China having spent two years in Shanghai. I have taught in British schools for over ten years having completed my P.G.C.E. at the Institute of Education, London. For the majority of those years I have worked overseas, beginning in Egypt and, most recently, in Chile. As I have worked predominately overseas the need to support English language development has been very important to me. I encourage enriching language through drama, songs and story telling. I believe the children I work with feel secure and included, challenged and, above all, enjoy the experience.
I have a great love for South East Asia, having worked in Malaysia for five years. I have also worked with Nord Anglia in a British school in Shanghai. It was an easy decision to return to this part of the world a year ago.
Obviously, I love to travel and I am very lucky to have a job that enables this. I am a keen (very amateur!) photographer of landscape and animals. I enjoy watching and, where my body allows, playing sport with cricket, rugby and football being my favourites. I try to keep healthy through running, and hope to complete a half marathon in Cambodia later this year. I also enjoy sitting down, whether to read a book or to watch a movie.
