Staff Profiles: Claire Walsh

Claire Walsh

Head of English

I started my international teaching career by moving to Shanghai and setting up the English department in a brand new school. Two years later I moved to Hong Kong with the intention of staying for a one-year contract, however, almost 11 years later, having worked in 3 of the top 20 highest achieving schools in the country, and moving between the role of Head of English, University Guidance Counsellor and Pastoral Head of Senior School (and with three children in tow), I moved to join the dynamic team here at BSG.

With 3 children under the age of 7, I am kept extremely busy. Thankfully they share my passion for arts, crafts, creativity and books, so we always have a project or two and several books on the go. At the moment we are trying to build our very own eco garden on our patio so that we can grow our own food – hopefully this should keep my girls fit and strong for their rugby and karate training!
