I am a latecomer to the teaching profession after spending 10 years in the Royal Navy seeing the world. On leaving, I rediscovered my passion for Mathematics and completed my PGCE at Brighton University. I have not looked back since. I have worked in both comprehensive and selective schools (where the Mathematics department had a 100% success rate at GCSE). I have been fortunate teaching up to A level, and more recently I have been Head of Mathematics and was part of the team that helped my last school achieve its best ever results.
Perhaps due to my experiences travelling, with the Royal Navy, it has been a long held ambition to teach abroad. As a family we are very excited about exploring the ancient city of Guangzhou and sampling its famous Cantonese cuisine. BSG with its commitment to a lifelong love of learning offers the perfect opportunity to share my passion for both Mathematics and Education.
