Teaching has enabled me to have the opportunity to really inspire and enable students from a variety of different backgrounds. The biggest appeal of teaching has been the ability to change a young person’s outlook and this is what really drives me to be the best teacher I can be for my students.
As a Geographer I have always had a passion for finding out and exploring the world. Having the opportunity to teach students in an international setting is a fantastic privilege and opportunity that led me to be Head of Geography at The British School Guangzhou. I understand how contemporary and relevant Geography is, as we are all more interconnected through globalization and I look forward to learning from the students and developing their love of learning.
I am from Coventry, England and enjoy listening to live music and have attended many festivals including the world famous Glastonbury festival. When not teaching, I love travelling and visiting other cultures and I am very excited to explore China and find out more about its rich historical heritage and culture. With such close proximity to many other fascinating countries being in this part of the world will really fuel my desire to travel to a new part of the world every half term. My husband is a keen runner and will be encouraging me to take part in hikes and any running clubs there may be. My two year old son will also keep me busy and is enrolled on the Early Years Programme at Lakefront.
