Upon becoming a qualified teacher I taught in the UK for two years before moving to Kenya. This was my first overseas appointment and a brilliant beginning to life overseas. Following the birth of my two sons I moved to Thailand where I helped develop a new school, taking the numbers of pupils on role from 75 to 450 in 4 years. After 4 years I decided to move to the British School of Beijing to further my management experience and shortly after being made Deputy Head, was made the Head of Primary.
What I really enjoy is promoting thinking skills, teaching the children how they can apply these in real life scenarios, equipping them for the real world and the challenges it holds. It is also about bringing the very best modern understanding of education to the classroom.
I enjoy all things sporty and am often following the fortunes of my beloved Newcastle United with my children. I have coached Football, Cricket, Rugby and Hockey and love coaching children sports and sharing their successes.
