Staff Profile: Mr. E. Chan

Mr. E. Chan

EAL Teacher

Mr. Chan graduated from La Trobe University with a Bachelor of Teaching (Primary) in Australia and completed his Master of Education from The University of Western Australia. He has been an English Teacher in Hong Kong for the past ten years working in local primary schools across different school districts. He received his TESOL training from the Hong Kong Institute of Education.

During my career, I have had the opportunity to teach a wide variety of pupils from various backgrounds and all facets of society. As a result I am a compassionate teacher, who remains sensitive to a child’s unique needs. As an ESL teacher with experience in bilingualism, I understand the educational needs of Chinese ESL learners. In the classroom, I consider my strengths being my ability to incorporate diverse activities and material to engage and interest pupils with different learning styles.

Outside of school, I enjoy heading out to the country parks for hiking and mountain biking, volunteering at an animal shelter and spending time with my two sons, Ethan and Edward.
