Staff Profile: Mr. A. Lopes

Mr. A. Lopes

Spanish Teacher and Head of Modern Foreign Languages

Mr. Lopes was the Head of Modern Languages teaching Spanish and German at the University Technical College Plymouth in Devon, UK. Previously he taught at a British School in Bangkok in Thailand and in Nottingham, UK for 4 years teaching Spanish, German and French focusing on Secondary teaching. He has wide experience in teaching IGCSE, A Levels and the IB Diploma. Alex has an MA in Modern Foreign Languages (including Hispanic Literature and Germanic Studies). 

 

I come from Sweden/Britain/Portugal as I grew up in many different countries such as Argentina, Brazil, Sweden, Germany, Britain, Portugal and Spain. I speak 6 languages and I am trying to learn Cantonese. 

I consider myself to be innovative, inspirational and very enthusiastic about all aspects of language teaching/learning. I have a genuine passion for language learning which compliments my zeal for travel, enabling me to keep my lessons fresh, relevant and highly topical.

My main hobbies are mountain-biking, trekking, hiking, and diving. I also love cookery, watching TV, reading, writing and meditation. іHasta pronto amigos!
