    Head of Physical Education

    Mr. M. Pate

    Mr Pate graduated from Edinburgh University with a BEd (Hons) in Physical Education. He also gained a post graduate certificate from Strathclyde University in Management in Education. He has been a Principal Teacher of Guidance and was a Deputy Head teacher at a school in Glasgow.

    Mr. D. Reid

    Mr. Reid graduated from Canterbury Christchurch University with a BSc in Sport and Exercise Science, receiving recognition for Excellence in Sports Psychology. He was the Head of P.E. in a Sports College on the outskirts of London before joining NAIS. Mr. Reid has taught both GSCE P.E. and BTEC Sports with outstanding results.

    Ms. M. Farry

    Ms. Farry has a joint honours degree in Physical Education and Primary Education from the University of Leeds. Since graduating she has worked in both a classroom setting and as a specialist P.E. teacher.

    Ms. Farry has worked in a number of International settings including posts in New Zealand, Kuwait, Nigeria, Korea and Hong Kong.

    I am extremely committed to ensuring that all students are given the opportunity to develop a range of skills through the medium of Physical Education.

    Mrs. S. Pate

    Mrs Pate's professional qualifications include a  BDes (Hons) in Printed Textile Design and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) Art & Design from Strathclyde University. Since 2002 she has taught in Scottish Secondary schools undertaking various curriculum responsibilities including Enterprise as well as Art & Design. She was the Principal Teacher of Art & Design at Bearsden Academy and a marker for the Scottish Qualifications Awarding body for Photography.

    Mr. N. De Sousa

    Mr. N. De Sousa

    Mr. De Sousa taught at Holy Trinity School, in North West London and before that was the Head of Drama at Peterborough and St. Margaret’s School in North London where he was responsible for running the GCSE Drama course for 5 years.  This included devising lively schemes of work often dealing with citizenship issues. The GCSE enabled pupils to use Drama to explore issues of conflict, justice and equality as well as study set plays from Shakespeare, to Oscar Wilde and Arthur Miller as well as allowing students to work on performance skills needed for the acting elements of the syllabus.

    Mr. De Sousa graduated from Royal Holloway, University of London and gained his QTS at Hertfordshire University. Mr. De Sousa also trained as an actor at Drama Studio London and is working with the University of Warwick and Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) to complete a specialism in teaching Shakespeare to young people.
