Staff Profile: Miss L. Kenny

Miss L. Kenny

P.E. Teacher and Caernarfon House Tutor

Miss Kenny taught for four years at a secondary school in Glasgow, Hillpark Secondary. She graduated in 2006 from Edinburgh University with a BEd (Hons) degree in Physical Education. Also, Miss Kenny has various additional qualifications, including a National Life Saving award and she is also a qualified Dance Leadership tutor.

I intend to bring my enthusiasm and high level of commitment to NAIS. I am an experienced and professional individual who has had a positive impact of so many pupils in her nine years of teaching. During this time I have helped pupils achieve excellent examination results, mentored pupils as well as being a pro-active member of the whole school. For example, she was involved in assisting with the School show in 2013, leading pupils through dances and also choreographing other aspects of the performance. This was a huge success and pupils as well as parents thoroughly enjoyed the final performance.

I am passionate about Physical Education and take an active interested in the pupils themselves. I always ensure they feel safe and make every lesson fun. Pupils find me approachable and I always make them feel valued in school.

My hobbies include keeping fit and sailing at the weekends. I have also visited Hong Kong each summer for the last 10 years to see her family and experience the amazing culture.

Whilst in Hong Kong, I enjoy spending time with her younger sisters going trips to Ocean Park, Disneyland and the cinema. I also enjoy swimming at the weekends. I adore Hong Kong, as it is a busy and exciting place with a diversity of people and cultures.  I am really excited at the opportunity to work there.
