My professional background
I completed my PGCE in Primary Education as a science specialist from the University of Exeter in 1999 and taught in schools in England, Wales and Internationally. I am experienced in teaching all year groups in Key Stage 2 including mixed aged classes.
In 2004, I undertook a specialist role working at Local Authority level in Wales developing health and wellbeing in schools. During this time, I completed a Masters in Health Education and Health Promotion.
In January 2013, due to my husband’s job I moved to Houston, Texas and in 2014 joined the Year 4 teaching team. Due to the ever changing oil industry I moved with my family to Sinagpore in August 2015 and taught Year 3 at Dulwich College, Singapore. After a brief spell in Singapore I returned to Houston with my family and was very privileged to join the BISH teaching team in Year 5.
My qualification include:
BSc (Hons) Pharmacology, University of Portsmouth, UK.
Postgraduate Certificate in Education, Primary Science Specialist, University of Exeter, UK.
MSc Public Health and Health Education, University of Swansea, UK.
I am a keen road cyclist and enjoy the challenge of cycling in Houston and the surrounding hill country. I have completed the BPMS150 twice and look forward to more cycling challenges.
What the students say about me
"I really like my teacher Mrs Hudd because she is really nice and helps me learn lots of new things!" (BISH school report)
This School is different to all others I have worked at because…
BISH is totally different to any other school that I have taught in. The school environment and structure of the curriculum truly empowers the children to develop according to their own personal learning style.
