I graduated from The University of Texas with a BFA in Technical Theatre Design in 1992. My professional Stage Management career started with Austin Lyric Opera. I then went on to work for Juilliard, The Metropolitan Opera, Walnut Street Theatre, The Opera Company of Philadelphia, Cleveland Opera, and The Opera Company of Charleston, West Virginia. Having grown tired of the cold Northern winters I went on to spend two seasons at the Palm Beach Opera and finally The San Francisco Opera where I had the opportunity to go out on a three month tour with the Merola Program’s Wester Opera Theatre as the Production Stage Manager.
After I had my first child I returned to Houston and worked in the Production office of Houston Grand Opera. After a 5 year stint in Advertising I became the Production Manager for a small children’s theatre, Katy Visual and Performing Arts Centre. I had the great opportunity to design sets, costumes lights, sound and make-up for hundreds of shows over 5 years as well as interacting and teaching children of all ages about the magic and craft of Theatre. After leaving the Centre to concentrate on my family, I started my own design firm and have had the privilege to work on a number of productions in the Houston area as a Stage Manager and Set Designer.
I was born in Lima, Peru and I have live, amongst many places, in both Anchorage, Alaska and Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. Growing up in an Oil Field household I have the privilege to say that I have visited over 39 different countries while living overseas. I have been married to my very supportive husband, Kevin Carroll for 12 years and we have two beautiful daughters – Isabel and Keira. I am an avid reader and art object builder in my spare time. I am also the proud coach of an all-girl First Lego League Robotics Team. We have advanced to the Regional Tournament two years in a row and brought home trophies both times! My biggest passion is working on shows and introducing the beauty and the chaos of theatre to kids.
