Early Years

Our school day begins at 7:15 am and concludes at 12:00 pm for Early Years students.

For Early Years students, each day is structured in a way to maintain attention and inquisitiveness, encouraging learning through play and exploration. The NIS Early Years team provides an innovative and stimulating inquiry-based learning environment for children to flourish.

A typical day begins with play, followed by exercises and games that develop your child’s language, numeracy, literacy, physical and emotional education. Creativity is encouraged through songs and music, along with time for arts and crafts. Physical activity is emphasised and children engage in daily specialist physical education classes or swimming lessons.

Primary

Our school day begins at 7:15 am and concludes at 2:00 pm for Primary Years students.

As children grow older and more curious, we provide appropriate guidance for them to start discovering their individual interests and passions. Our structure aims to engender a love of learning that makes the world an exciting place.

Students engage in guided reading, maths and literacy sessions. Bahasa language learning is delivered twice per week along with Dutch lessons for children in the English stream and English lessons for children enrolled in the Dutch stream. Indonesian students also have specialized classes covering Indonesian culture and civics. An active lifestyle is promoted through twice weekly PE classes and weekly swimming lessons.
