Sri Dewi Astuti: Staff Profile

Sri Dewi Astuti | NIS international school Jakarta

EAL Teacher

Dewi holds a Bachelor of English Degree in Education and has worked with Netherlands Inter-community School since 2014 as an EAL teacher.

Qualifications

Bachelor of English, Faculty of Education and Teacher Training, Christian University of Indonesia, ID.

Biography

Dewi began her carrier at Tutor Time International School as a Kindergarten teacher for 5 years. Then she stepped in at Buddha Tzu Chi School for a year with the same position. She gained a certification in ‘Incorporating Jolly Phonics in the classroom’ and did research of implementing it with her students. 

In 2013 she expanded, teaching non-core subjects for Primary students at Singapore International School before moving to NIS as EAL teacher. Besides being familiar with IPC and Cambridge Curriculum, she is also confident using Benchmark Reading as a reading assessment tool and Jolly Phonics as a method of learning how to read and write.

She is an outgoing and cheerful individual who truly enjoys developing both herself and her students to be independent and become the best that they can be.
