IB Middle Years Programme

Our middle school curriculum follows the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP). If your child is aged 11-15 they will follow this middle school programme designed to broaden their thinking and explore world issues.

For children of middle school age (11-15) we follow the IB Middle Years Programme. This is regarded as one of the finest middle school curriculum offerings in the world.

What is the MYP?

The MYP has a strong focus on developing attitudes, values and skills. In essence the programme doesn't just offer facts and knowledge, but a deep understanding of how to learn and how to apply their learning. This is developed through the MYP:

  • In grade 6 - 8 your child will lay the foundations for future study honing their skills in creativity, communication, collaboration and critical thinking.
  • In grades 9 and 10 your child will have more responsibility and develop in-depth research projects that allow their understanding to be demonstrated.

For further information and news on the changes to the MYP programme, please see the documents posted below.
