Alexandra Grove - Alumni

Alexandra Grove, Alumna and Doctor

Medical Doctor

Alumna, Dr Alexandra Grove, tells us about her time at ICS and beyond.

"I graduated from ICS in 2006, where I underwent all of my secondary school education from Grade 6 to Grade 12. I have always known that I wanted to be a doctor, so I took Chemistry, Biology and Geography at Higher Level in the IB, with Maths, English and Spanish at Standard Level. I obtained 39 points for the Diploma which meant I was able to study Medicine at King’s College London."

"When applying to Medical School, universities often look for candidates with not only good results, but who also demonstrate an interest beyond the academic and in other people. ICS encouraged us to take part in Community Service and extra-curricular activities.

I enjoyed five years in London, which is a very exciting and multi-cultural city. My degree was very demanding but most of the basic sciences in the first two years had been covered to some extent at ICS. The rigorous syllabus of IB Higher Level subjects prepared me for the hard work at Medical School. I qualified as a doctor from King’s College London in 2011 and I am currently working at Southampton University Hospital in the South of England."
