Orientation Day

We are looking forward to welcoming you and your child to NACIS. The following information is to support you through the transition on your child's first day.

All parents are strongly encouraged to attend the first day together with their child. If you cannot attend, and your child has opted to use the school bus, please inform us by emailing info@nacis.cn and we will ensure that your child is collected from their designated bus stop.

Sunday 28th August Boarding Orientation
Monday 29th August Orientation Grade 1
Tuesday 30th August   Orientation Grade 2 – 5 (Normal School Day Grade 1)
Wednesday 31st August Orientation Grade 6 – 10 (Normal School Day Grade 1 –5)
Thursday 1st September Semester One commences

 

Orientation Programme for each day



08.00 - 08.20 – Arrival to School
School gates open and staff welcome families onto campus. Upon arrival, families are to receive their welcome pack and are given a class sticker indicating their form and grade. Families are then directed through to the Atrium where refreshments are served.

08.20 - 08.45 – Students to go to class
Students are collected from the Atrium by their Homeroom Teachers/Form Tutors and taken to their classroom. Parents to remain in the Atrium.

08.45 - 11.00 – Orientation Information
Parents are invited to visit the various stations set up in the theatre to ask any further questions and provide outstanding documents.
Stations include:

  • Buses
  • Dining
  • Admissions
  • Learning Resources
  • School Nurse
  • Uniform

Class Tours
Parents are invited to briefly visit their child's corridor in groups to observe the classroom orientation activities.

11.00 – End of Orientation
Parents leave the campus and return to collect their child at 15:30 from the courtyard. Those children who are using the school bus service can return home by bus. If you have chosen to use the bus but will collect your child from school on their first day, please inform us by email info@nacis.cn.  Boarding students are met by the boarding team and guided to the dorms.


Boarding Orientation

We are looking forward to welcoming your child to boarding at NACIS. The following information is to support you through the transition on your child's first day.

We strongly recommend that all boarding students attend the orientation day on Sunday 28 August. If for any reason you cannot attend on Sunday, but will be joining the whole school orientation day specific to your grade the following week, please inform us by emailing info@nacis.cn.

Boarding Orientation Programme for Sunday 28th August:

09:00 - 10:00         Grade 7 - 10
All families are welcomed by NACIS staff in the school reception. From here, you are invited to join your child in their designated dorm to help them settle in. At 10:30 you are invited to the theatre where you will be able to supply any outstanding information, purchase your child’s dining card, swap or purchase more uniform items and learn more about our bus network. At 11:30 you say goodbye to your child who will then have a picnic lunch before beginning their student orientation.

11:30 - 12:30          Grade 6
All families are welcomed by NACIS staff in the school reception. From here, you are invited to join your child in their designated dorm to help them settle in. At 13:00 you are invited to the theatre where you will be able to supply any outstanding information, purchase your child’s dining card, swap or purchase more uniform items and learn more about our bus network.  At 14:00 you say goodbye to your child as they will begin their student orientation.

14:00 - 15:00           Grade 1 - 5
All families are welcomed by NACIS staff in the school reception. From here, you are invited to join your child in their designated dorm to help them settle in. At 15:30 you are invited to the theatre where you will be able to supply any outstanding information, purchase your child’s dining card, swap or purchase more uniform items and learn more about our bus network.  At 16:30 you say goodbye to your child and they will begin their student orientation followed by dinner in the dining room.
