Frank Bosco

Music Therapist

Frank Bosco, MA, MT-BC, LCAT, LMT, RPP, SEP, has maintained a full-time private practice since 1980 as a Certified Music Therapist and a Licensed Massage Therapist since 1978. Over the years he has integrated a wide range of somatic and psycho-therapy practices including shiatsu, NMT, Polarity, NLP, hypnosis and Gestalt. Using the energy principles (primarily from Ayurveda) of Polarity Therapy as a basis, his work combines bodywork and psychotherapy with theoretical and technical understandings from the field of music therapy. This has resulted in the creation of an approach he calls "Elemental Music Alignment" for which he offers sessions and training. He is the founder/director of Sound Health Studio, a center in New York City which opened its door in 1990 offering studies and services including a variety of music therapy approaches, psychotherapy, bodywork and acupuncture.

Professional affiliations include: New York University, the Foundation for Human Enrichment, the American Music Therapy Association, and full membership status in the New York Institute for Gestalt Therapy.

Since 1981 Frank has taught many classes relating to Polarity, bodywork and music healing, including a course called "Energy Concepts in Music Therapy" for music therapy graduate students. Currently, he is an adjunct faculty member at NYU where he has been leading music therapy group process classes for over 20 years now. In addition to working with his above mentioned approach to music therapy he also practices “Somatic Experiencing” (an approach for “renegotiating” traumatic experiences) and theory based Gestalt therapy. He is actively exploring, writing, and professionally presenting on the subject of integrating the above fields of interest.
