I was born in Scotland and I am a graduate of the University of Aberdeen, with a Bachelor of Education Honors Degree. I have experience in teaching all stages and curricular areas in schools throughout Scotland. I have a keen interest in using technology to enhance learning and teaching opportunities. Recently, I carried out research into the Philosophy for Children approach to learning and I incorporate this daily within my teaching practice as a tool to encourage critical thinking and enquiry, in the context of a caring and collaborative community.
I am an active person, enjoying hillwalking and running. I also love travelling and have recently toured around Australia, Europe and America, meeting lots of interesting people along the way.
I am very excited to be working within Nord Anglia International School, New York. I see this school as unique in that it is a truly international setting. The IPC curriculum allows for a thematic based learning and teaching approach and ensures an active curriculum where learning is purposeful and meaningful within a real life context.
