Russian Teacher, Secondary

Are you an inspirational teacher looking to work in a successful and expanding school? Regents International School Pattaya is looking for a Part-Time Teacher of Russian for the beginning of the 2014-2015 academic year. Amongst other things, you’ll be well organised, have a good sense of humour and want to participate fully in the extra-curricular aspects of school life as well as the classroom. You will be responsible for all aspects of teaching and learning, and for encouraging a culture of inspiration, enjoyment and success. An ability to teach a second subject is always an advantage.

Located on the eastern seaboard of Thailand, our Secondary school has nearly 500 students from a wide range of international backgrounds, from Year 7 through to Year 13. In total, there are over 1000 students (from pre-nursery) with more than 100 students in our boarding houses.

Planning, Teaching and Class Management

Teach allocated students by planning their teaching to achieve progression of learning through:

  • understanding and applying effective classroom management;

Monitoring, Assessment, Recording, Reporting

  • Use performance data to evaluate students' progress and set appropriate targets for improvement;
  • Use assessment to inform planning and teaching;
  • Report on progress to all stakeholders.

Pastoral Duties

  • Be a form tutor to an assigned group of students;
  • Promote the general progress and well-being of individual students and of  the Form Tutor Group as a whole;
  • Liaise with the Pastoral Leader to ensure the implementation of the school's pastoral system;
  • Register students, accompany them to assemblies, encourage their attendance at all lessons and their participation in other aspects of school life;
  • Contribute to the preparation of Action Plans and progress files and other reports;
  • Alert appropriate staff to problems experienced by students and make recommendations as to how these may be resolved;
  • Communicate, as appropriate, with parents of students and persons or bodies outside the school concerned with the welfare of individual students, after consultation with appropriate staff;
  • Contribute to PSHE and citizenship and enterprise according to school policy
