Head of Primary English as an Additional Language (EAL)

  • Period: Fixed Term
  • Contract:
  • Closing date for applications: 23 April 2014

Are you an inspirational Head of Primary EAL to work in a successful and expanding school? Regents International School Pattaya is looking for Head of Primary EAL to start in August 2014.

The Head of Primary EAL will assist in managing and leading the Primary school through their responsibility for the leadership and successful delivery of their curriculum area and for the development of all members of the Primary EAL team.  In all aspects of the post middle managers must seek actively to promote the school ethos, expressed in the Philosophy and Objectives, within the academic and pastoral curriculum. Along with all other members of staff, they assist in running the school by contributing to management initiatives in matters of whole school policy, promoting initiatives in respect of own areas of responsibility, ensuring high levels of achievement and rapid progress for all students who receive EAL support.

As a qualified teacher you will ideally be familiar with the English National Curriculum though we will also consider candidates who have experience with different national curriculums. You will be an excellent communicator, who gets on well with colleagues, students, parents, technology and change. Amongst other things, you’ll be well organised, have a good sense of humour and want to participate fully in the extra-curricular aspects of school life as well as the classroom.

Located on the eastern seaboard of Thailand, our Primary school has over 570 students from a wide range of international backgrounds from Pre-Nursery through to Year 6. In total, there are over 1000 students through to Year 13 with more than 100 students in our Boarding houses. You will be responsible for all aspects of teaching and learning, and for encouraging a culture of inspiration, enjoyment and success within Primary EAL.

In addition to being highly successful in its own right, Regents International School Pattaya is a member of the Nord Anglia Education family of schools. By joining Nord Anglia Education you will become part of a committed and innovative team of educators across the globe, with opportunities for personal and professional development. As a member of the world’s leading premium schools group you will be joining an active network of like-minded people in Thailand and across the world.

This is an exciting time to be joining Nord Anglia Education. We are the world’s leading premium schools organisation with schools across Asia, the Middle East, Europe and North America. Nord Anglia Education now has 27 schools in 11 countries and from September will be responsible for the education of over 17,000 students. We put educational quality at the heart of what we do and each of our schools grows year on year as a result of our popularity with parents.

Regents International School Pattaya is also a member of the Round Square organisation and as such we embed the ethos of Global Citizenship within our curriculum and learning opportunities both in and outside the classroom. We value very highly our wide range of community partnerships and look to appoint teachers who are also passionate about strengthening community links for themselves and the children in their care.

In return for your passion to deliver a quality education you will enjoy a competitive salary, accommodation allowance, beginning and end of contract flight allowance, subsidised healthcare and places in the school for your children. You’ll have the opportunity to live and work in an idyllic part of the world and will benefit from the opportunities inherent in a high quality global organisation dedicated to education and helping others to be the best they can be.
