Key Stage 3

Students' first experience of our senior school is in Key Stage 3

  • ks3

Key Stage 3, Years 7, 8 and 9, is an important stage of preparation and learning for our students, readying them for the IGCSE years of Key Stage 4 up ahead.

Continuing their learning based on the English National Curriculum as in previous years, our Key Stage 3 students are given an increased amount of support and independence to excel in their academic subjects, with a specialised teacher in each subject for the first time.

Students are encouraged to participate in our sports teams, find creative outlets in music and drama classes, learn about citizenship and personal development in PSHE as well as being given the option to take on more languages – on top of English, Key Stage 3 students can choose to study two of our modern foreign languages (French, German or Spanish), with Czech students continuing English and Czech and taking on one of them.

Our teachers monitor our students’ progress carefully, which is especially important at this stage as they prepare to study the IGCSE, to ensure students continue to excel and achieve.
