Key Stage 4 is when our students first begin to make choices in which subjects they pursue and undertake their first international qualification, the IGCSE.
The IGCSE, administered by Cambridge International Examinations is a rigorous and diverse qualification, based on the English National Curriculum's GCSE qualifications. Internationally recognised and respected, it provides an excellent academic grounding for further study.
As well as studying core subjects English, Maths and Science, our students are given freedom to specialise and focus on their favoured subjects, choosing different mixes of stimulating courses in History, Geography, Art, Music, Drama, Technology and PE. Their language learning continues further as they start to become fluent in their chosen modern foreign languages, choosing one or two of French, Spanish or German, with Czech also available to native Czech speakers.
Activities like the Duke of Edinburgh programme give students an insight into outdoor pursuits, planning and team work and start to encourage an interest in volunteering and positive social action.
Our Highest Quality Learning pedagogy helps students to achieve great things in their IGCSE exams, with 84% of our students achieving at least five A* - C grades last year.
