Ben MacGregor

Year 5 Teacher, Health and Safety Awareness Leader

Ben was born in Australia and has been teaching for 18 years in primary schools in Australia, the Middle East and has been here in Prague for 10 years, currently working with Year 5; and as our Key Stage 1 & 2 Leader.

Ben will continue to be responsible Health and Safety; as he returns to the KS 1 & 2 Leadership role.  As the KS 1 & 2 Leader, Ben will be responsible for behaviour; 'Coffee in the Classroom' and be an initial point of contact with parents regarding logistics and events.  Ben holds a four year teaching degree specialising in both primary and secondary education (B.Teach – Primary and Secondary) with a range of specialities. He has been active in senior levels of school leadership, holding specialist pastoral posts, a special needs post and particularly likes working with students in the ‘middle years’ transition stage, preparing and supporting them in their initial senior school experience, whilst consolidating previous work and celebrating their transition together.  Ben is also involved with charities at school, where he believes developing a responsible moral and social outlook, to help others, is a key aspect in every child’s development.  He also holds several further qualifications including a Bachelor of Science (Hons) specialising in Earth Sciences (Geology and Environmental Science).  Ben spent time overseas on a university exchange at the University of Hawaii, Manoa’s School of Oceanic Environmental and Earth Sciences; and worked in the Australian outback during his honours programme with Ashton Mining. Ben is an avid sportsman who enjoys tennis, golf and when not participating in sports, he enjoys relaxing, travelling, reading and a good game of chess.
