Nik comes from the city of York in the north east of England. He graduated from Nottingham University with a BA in history in 2002 and then worked as a volunteer in both Ecuador and Estonia (with stints in between in a chocolate factory back home in Yorkshire!). After completing his PGCE at Oxford University in 2007 he taught history in the South East of England for eight years.
Nik enjoys travelling and has spent a lot of time in Latin America including recent trips to Colombia and Nicaragua. In his previous job he established a link between his school and a community in Lesotho in Southern Africa which he then visited with a group of Year 12 pupils. Nik is keen on most sports, especially football and rugby and is running a boot camp fitness club in school for pupils, staff and parents who want to join! He also has a strong interest in current affairs and politics.
