Donna graduated from the University of Huddersfield in 1999 with a BSc (Hons) in Behavioural Sciences. Donna then held several management positions in a chain of UK restaurants, but found that her role did not give her the satisfaction that she needed to live a rewarding life. Donna then moved on to become a Holistic Therapist, practising Aromatherapy, Reflexology and Massage. She later took a career break to begin raising a family, which sparked her interest in teaching and young children. Donna then made the decision to become a teacher and has never looked back. She spent 2 years teaching English as a Foreign Language, before completing her PGCE from the University of Nottingham. Donna has enjoyed working in both bilingual and international schools in Bangkok, Thailand as an Early Years Teacher.
During her time teaching in Thailand, Donna led the Early Years Team and was Senior teacher at the Early Years Campus where she supported the Head of Early Years at Bromsgrove International School Thailand. She has taught all Early Years age groups, but is especially passionate about Nursery. In her spare time, Donna has worked as an educational consultant for a company developing a phonics programme aimed at adult English language learners. After 8 years in Thailand she decided to widen her horizons and move to China. Donna was very excited to bring her family to Shanghai and began working as a Pre-Nursery Teacher here at NAIS Pudong in 2015.
In her spare time, Donna loves to spend time with her family, both at home and out and about. Her favourite family pass times are cycling, travelling and sight-seeing, however at home she loves to spend time cooking as a family together. When she finds time to herself she really enjoys yoga and reading. She is also hoping to find a nearby archery range to practice her amateur archery skills.
