Kelly graduated in 2005 from the University of Cumbria, with a BA (Hons) in Primary Education and a specialist focus in the Advanced Study of Early Years. She is extremely passionate about teaching and has a special interest in early childhood development and child centred learning.
After graduating Kelly began her teacher career in Kent, where she taught for eight years across the Early Years Foundation Stage and Year One. During this time she was subject leader for RE across the school and for English across lower primary. After many years considering a move overseas to teach in an international context, Kelly joined the Nord Anglia family and BIS Abu Dhabi four years ago, teaching across Early Years. In addition to her teaching responsibilities Kelly is Head of FS1 and Deputy Head of Early Years for 17 classes.
Kelly is moving from Abu Dhabi to Shanghai with her husband and two children, Theo aged 8 and Evie aged 5. Although Kelly has thoroughly enjoyed her time in Abu Dhabi, she is now ready for a new adventure and is looking for new opportunities for her children to develop as global citizens. Kelly and her family are very excited about their move to Shanghai and are very much looking forward to joining NAIS Pudong.
Kelly enjoys nothing more than spending time with her family and friends. Together they love exploring new places and learning about the traditions and cultures which make a place so special. In moving to Shanghai, Kelly and her family hope to visit lots of interesting places, see some amazing sights and learn a new language too! To relax and unwind Kelly spends time painting and when the children are tucked up in bed she loves curling up with a good book or catching up on her favourite TV series. Many moons ago Kelly had enjoyed classes in Pilates, Yoga and Zumba and hopes to rekindle her enthusiasm and get in shape once again.
