Higher Education Adviser and Teacher of French
Educated at Durham University, Kathryn joined us last year from a Scottish boarding school where she was Housemistress to 65 girls for 7 years prior to arriving here. She is a qualified French teacher and has taught languages to students aged eight to eighteen years old for the past fourteen years. A keen netballer, Kathryn also coaches netball at our school to both the Secondary and Junior girls; taking the girls off to matches and tournaments around Shanghai at the weekends.
Kathryn leads the Higher Education counselling here at NAIS Pudong; advising parents and students on university application processes around the world. She works with worldwide universities to schedule a programme of visits so that students are able to gather as much information as possible on the opportunities out there. Kathryn is also responsible for organising the annual Careers and Higher Education Fair where she brings in professionals from a great variety of sectors to pass on their advice and guidance to our students.
Kathryn wanted to come to Shanghai as she is a keen traveller and linguist and wanted to experience living amongst a different culture. Mother of two children, Megan and Cameron, she also wanted them to experience a more international lifestyle and she has not been disappointed! Kathryn particularly enjoys keeping fit and is able to take part in the local netball league here at NAIS on a Monday evening as well as running and circuit training. Her aspiration is to complete the Great Wall of China marathon this spring.
