    Head of Primary

    Lisa Passante

    Lisa began her teaching career in 2000, after achieving a BA (Hons) Media Arts and English from the University of Plymouth and a PGCE from the University of Nottingham. During the six years she taught in the UK, Lisa taught across the primary age range and held a variety of roles, one of which was as a Team Teach Tutor, training teaching staff across Lincolnshire in positive handling techniques and behavioural support.

    Lisa joined Nord Anglia Education (NAE) in 2006 at BISS Puxi and whilst there held the role of Deputy Head of Primary for four years as well as Acting Head of Primary. Lisa then joined another of our NAE schools, the British School of Beijing, Sanlitun in 2012, first as Head Teacher and then as Principal. During this time, Lisa achieved her National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH) as well as an MSc in Educational Leadership.

    Barrie Scrymgeour

    After graduating from the University of Birmingham, Barrie’s teaching career has been mainly based around the second city of England. The three English primary schools that he worked in were mixed in their setting but all shared a high standard of education. Barrie has taught from Year 1 to 6 and held various positions of responsibility. His last role in a UK primary school was as Deputy Head and he was responsible for assessment and professional development.  He also worked in a Local Education Authority as a Teaching and Learning Consultant where he worked intensively with schools on Behaviour, Attendance and Wellbeing. This role meant he was also able to work with government, teaching organisations and universities on curriculum design and best practice.

    Nursery Teacher and Early Years Leader

    Tamara Keenan

    Tamara received her PGCE from the University of Sunderland and holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Media & Communication Studies with French, from the University of Wolverhampton. She has been teaching since 2002 and has gained a variety of teaching experiences in both teaching and management within Primary and the Early Years.  Five of those years she spent in our family school, British International School Abu Dhabi.

    Sally Scrymgeour

    Sally received her degree in Sport, Physical Education and Community studies from Birmingham University in the year 2000 before going on to complete her PGCE in Primary Education the following year. She taught in the UK for over 12 years before moving to Shanghai. This has been her first international post.

    Lucy Ellen Marshall

    Lucy was born and grew up in Manchester, North West England. In 2011 Lucy graduated from Liverpool John Moores University with a BA in Primary Education. She has spent the last 5 years working in two culturally diverse schools in inner-city Manchester. Working at NAIS Pudong will be Lucy’s very first international school experience.

    Andrew Lowery

    After training to become a Secondary English teacher, Andrew spent four years teaching at an inner city school in Nottingham, UK. He then moved to become a Year 6 class teacher in Ipoh, Malaysia. He enjoyed it so much that he stayed for five years, subsequently becoming an Assistant Head Teacher.
