Staff Profile: Simon Jones

SJO JONES Simon Secondary

Assistant Head of Mathematics

Simon graduated from the University of Glasgow with a MA in 2003 before starting a career in Information Technology recruitment. He moved to Liverpool in 2010 to retrain as a teacher and completed his PGCE in Liverpool Hope University in 2011. Simon then worked for 2 years as a Mathematics teacher before moving to London as A-Level Co-ordinator for Mathematics and Economics at the Norwood School.

He decided to move with his partner to Shanghai in 2014 as they wanted to enjoy a new challenge outside of the UK.

Simon got married to his partner Rachel Preston, a Year 5 teacher at NAIS Pudong in July 2015 and they are expecting their first child in December 2016. Simon enjoys exploring Shanghai and learning Chinese when he is not at work, however he currently finds a lot of his spare time is taken up getting the house ready for the new arrival.
